Propagation Channel Characterization and Measurements.

| Uncategorized

Advances in the mobile communication field include the study of new propagation channels for very high frequencies up to 300 GHz. The SWAT research group laboratory includes measurement equipment that allows the acquisition of electromagnetic waves up to 300 GHz. These measurements allow to characterize in depth the propagation environment for future mobile communication scenarios. The equipment, together with anechoic, reverberant and indoor scenarios, and post-processing techniques of the propagation channel allow the in-depth study of modified versions of the propagation channel in order to look for an optimal implementation and configuration of the propagation environment.

IA-based Propagation Channel Modelling

Machine Learning approaches for wireless propagation channel modelling, extrapolation and recreation in 5G communications and beyond. Usage of supervised/unsupervised IA modelling techniques, to recreate new scenarios on the basis Transfer Learning, Reinforcement Learning and generative modelling. Automatic processing of the propagation channel databases obtained in the controlled environment of the Group’s anechoic / reverberant chamber.
